Adrian Murliev

Adrian Murliev is responsible for customer relations and building strong relationships and trust.

  • Provides legal services, consultations and opinions to public institutions and private organizations in the field of civil and commercial law, in particular competition law, consumer law, administrative law and regulations, corporate law, telecommunications law, mergers and acquisitions, management of joint stock companies and shares, out-of-court negotiations and agreements, etc.
  • Conducts legal representation before administrative bodies, including Commission for Protection of Competition and Commission for Consumer Protection, as well as before judicial authorities, state and arbitration courts.
  • Manages joint stock companies, including giro and transfer of shares, conversions, capital changes and restructurings, shareholder agreements and options, etc.
  • Leads the legal service of commercial chains, incl. the largest online stores in Bulgaria, retail trade, marketing and regulations in social networks.

Notable cases and transactions

Acquisition of three of the largest Bulgarian publishers of books, textbooks, magazines, comics, etc.

In the period from the end of 2021 to the beginning of 2023, Adrian Murliev led one of the largest acquisitions in the book sector in Bulgaria, providing full legal assistance to his client who acquired three of the largest Bulgarian publishing houses within 15 months. The deals have a total value of several million euros, as Adrian Murliev is the sole legal advisor of the buyer and, in addition to the actual acquisition of the capital, leads and manages the investment part of the case, which is related to a large-scale credit line.

Acquisition of land and construction of a warehouse for the largest online retailer in Bulgaria

In 2020 and 2022, Adrian Murliev assisted the client – the largest online retailer in Bulgaria, to purchase over 20 acres of land and build a modern warehouse and logistics base in Bulgaria. The work covers the purchase and sale of land, the contribution of real estate to a company, as well as comprehensive assistance in building the base from the start of construction to its finalization and legalization of the activities that will be carried out through it. The investments have a total value of over 20 million euros.

Case against “Trace Group” JSC and nomination for case of the year

In 2020, one of the most significant cases against a Bulgarian journalist came to an end. Adrian Murliev proved as unfounded a claim for a quarter of a million BGN, filed by “Trace Group” JSC against the civil activist and TV presenter Ivo Bozhkov. The claim of “Trace Group” JSC was for significant damages caused by Bozhkov through influence on the Bulgarian stock exchange, as a result of his statements and reports. The case was honored at the annual Case of the Year 2020 Justice Awards ceremony.

Acquisition of the largest retailer of video games and related products in Bulgaria

In 2019, the most significant deal in the field of virtual entertainment was successfully carried out, as Adrian Murliev assisted the buyer with acquiring the first and largest specialized company in the field with a chain of over 10 stores located in shopping centers and malls in Bulgaria. The total value of the deal is several million euros, and for its finalization, a concentration was carried out within the meaning of the Protection of Competition Act, along with the concentration proceedings conducted before the Commission for Protection of Competition.

  • Participation in a working group on the implementation of a project of the Supreme Administrative Court aimed at analyzing good European practices for managing the quality of the judicial system; carrying out a detailed analysis and assessment of the internal organization of the work of Supreme Administrative Court
